Lavender's Blue

Lavender's blue, dilly dilly
Rosemary's green
When I am King dilly dilly
You shall be Queen

17th Century English Folk Song

I guess it is kind of like the "Last Rose of Summer". My lavender plants are just about kaput. Such a sweet delicate bit of color. A pleasing scent, known thru the ages to help alleviate headaches, and sleeplessness. The crushed flowers release an aromatic oil.

Soon we will be thinking about snow .....

It seems as though the last flowers are more beautiful than the mid-summer ones. These pictures show such a delicate beauty.
Hope your day is filled with love.

I can never get lavender to bloom at our house. It just dies.

I love the last flowers--my obedient plant. My lavender was taken over by a dwarf spruce so had to plant some in another location. Hope it blooms next year!
